Kaede wood has a silky luster and a dense, intricate grain that gives it a sense of quality.
It is smooth to the touch and hard and sticky to the touch.
Because of its durability and beauty, it is used for flooring, skis, bowling pins, floorboards in bowling alleys, action material for harmonicas and pianos, and fingerboard material for the back and side fingerboards of violins and guitars.

Origin of the name "Kaede"
Kaede look like Momiji [maple leaves], but the name "kaede" comes from the shape of the leaves, which resemble a frog's hand.
