Go stone Day Special 9X9 Go board set of 9-ro Go Board, "Shoryu" Go Stone designed with the Chinese zodiac sign of the year 2024 "Dragon", and Keyaki [Zelkova] wood miniature 9X9-ro Go bowls.

This 9X9 Go board set includes a "Clamshell Go stone", a "Ascending Dragon Go stone" with a design of the Chinese zodiac sign of 2024, a Hyuga Kaya 9X9 board and a zelkova mini Go chest.

Go stone is Clamshell Go Stones Blue Label size 30.
*The black Go stones are special edition "Ascending Dragon" black Go stones with a design of the Chinese zodiac sign for 2024, the Dragon (Tatsu).
Each Clamshell Go stone is made by hand by Go stones craftsmen through more than 20 manufacturing processes.
It takes approximately 2 to 6 months from the clam shell to the finished product.
We hope you will experience the skill of Go stones making that has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 100 years, and the brilliance of the Go stones carved by traditional Go stone making craftsmen.
Quality: The highest quality with almost no scratches that has cleared strict selection standards.
Grade (striped pattern): The spacing between the stripes is a little coarser than "Snow grade", which is about 70% or less of the total.
Generally, the thickness of Go stones that are said to be "easiest to play" is size 30 to 36, so size 30 (thickness: 8.0 mm) is a Go stone that has both moderate thickness and ease of play.

This Go bowl is made from Keyaki (zelkova) wood.
Keyaki (zelkova) is one of the most popular materials for Japanese wood crafts as it has not only clear grain patterns but also water- and humidity-resistant.

This is a beautiful board with a strong yellowish color peculiar to Hyuga-kaya.
One side has a knot.
The 9*9-ro board is quite thick and stable, as it is 1/4 scale of standard-sized board with 19*19 ro.
The lines of a board are marked using "Tachi-mori", the skill of drawing lines using a Japanese sword.
This traditional technique highlights the beauty of natural grain patterns and the texture of lacquered line is smooth and has also a nice feeling.
