Calligrapher Mr. Iwao said about the creation of this work, "The Beginning. Every day is a starting line.
At your doorstep each morning, there is also a 'one' beneath your feet as you step out.
Every encounter with others is a 'one.' Every day is lived differently. And then, you cross over 'one' as you return home.
For a calligrapher, 'one' is the foundation. Just a simple horizontal stroke. Yet, its simplicity makes it exceedingly difficult to master.
It changes every day. Just one stroke, yet profound.
To live each day with a fresh spirit and to ensure continuity into the future, I chose not to bring this 'one' to a definitive end."
