This Board is Hyuga kaya made Masame Shogi board with legs (6.9-sun / 20.8 cm thick) *Off-spec.

The lines of a board are marked using Tachi-mori, the skill of drawing lines using a Japanese sword. This traditional technique highlights the beauty of natural grain patterns and the texture of lacquered line is smooth and has also a nice feeling.

This is made from Hyuga Kaya, that is quite hard to get as material wood for board.
Thick grain boards over 6.0-sun (18.4cm) are extremely rare.

This is made from Hyuga Kaya, that is the highest quality material wood to make Shogi board.
The value is increasing as the wood will be rarer in the near future.
Yellowish-colored beautiful board, that is specific to Hyuga Kaya wood.

Top surface has a intergrown knot.
Cutting side has some cracks. But they will not bother you in daily use.
