Clamshell Go stones are white Go stones made from clam shells.
Generally, the thickness of Go stones that are said to be “easiest to play” is “size 30 to 36", so a Go stone of size 32 (thickness: approx. 8.8 mm) is both moderate thickness and a luxurious feel.
These stones allow you to fully enjoy the unique texture and sound of high-quality Clamshell Go stones.

Each Clamshell Go stones are made by hand by Go stones craftsmen through more than 20 manufacturing processes.
It takes approximately 2 to 6 months from the clam shell to the finished product.
We hope you will experience the skill of Go stones making that has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 100 years, and the brilliance of the Go stones carved by traditional Go stone making craftsmen.
Quality : The highest quality with almost no scratches that has cleared strict selection standards.
Grade (striped pattern) : The spacing between the stripes is a little coarser than "Snow grade", which is about 70% or less of the total.

*Clamshell white Go stones are made from Mexican clamshells.
*Our Nachi-guro black Go stones are manufactured to be 0.3mm thicker and 0.3mm larger in diameter than the white Go stones of the same size.
The reason for this is that white is a visually expanding color.
When white and black stones have the exact same diameter and thickness, black Go stones tend to appear slightly smaller to the human eyes.
To ensure that both Go stones look about the same size on the board, we make this slight adjustment.

Go bowls : Wood craftsman "Kai-shi (懐志)" made "Miyama guwa / Deep mountain mulberry" Go bowls
This is made of "Miyama guwa" [Deep mountain mulberry], which is very rare as Go Bowls and very popular and highest quality material to make Go bowls.
It is a rare item that is rarely distributed in the market.
The beautiful yellowish-colored mulberry will turn golden in color and produce a unique texture after you polish the surface.

Famous board craftsman Mr. Torayoshi Yoshida made Chinese grown Hon kaya 1.6-Sun(49mm thick) Tenchi-masa 1-piece Table Go Board.
This Tenchi-masa 1.6-Sun (49 mm thick) 1-piece table Go board is made from Chinese Kaya wood.
Ichi-jo-saku (一如 作）means "made with Ichi-nyo spirit" is the proof of his work.
The lines of a board are marked using Tachi-mori, the skill of drawing lines using a Japanese sword. This traditional technique highlights the beauty of natural grain patterns and the texture of lacquered line is smooth and has also a nice feeling.
The works of Mr. Torayoshi YOSHIDA feature very thin markings lines, that create elegance and beauty.
This is a table Go board with straight grain from top to bottom.
There are rolled-in wood peels remain on the top and the bottom.
Light blue stain can be seen on the bottom.
