This 23.6cm-thick Go board is the super high grade with extraordinary presence.
Such a thick Masame board is extremely rare, as this big diameter of Hyuga Kaya wood can be hardly available recently.
The "Ichi-jo-saku (一如 作)" written on bottom of board means "made with Ichi-jo spirit" is the proof of his work.
The lines of a board are marked using Tachi-mori, the skill of drawing lines using a Japanese sword.
This traditional technique highlights the beauty of natural grain patterns and the texture of lacquered line is smooth and has also a nice feeling.
The works of Mr. Torayoshi YOSHIDA feature very thin markings lines, that create elegance and beauty.
All four legs are hand-carved according to the color tone of the board and grain patterns to maximize the expression and impression of wood, and to best match with the board.
Beautiful and stately board overall. Especially, the surface of top board is extremely beautiful with no color irregularity.
Beautiful board made from Hyuga Kaya wood.
Top surface has an involvement of thin tree bark.

Go bowls : "Sen-suji" technique made Go bowls of Tagayasan (Ironwood) wood material.
This is made by Sen-suji technique "Tagayasan" [Ironwood], which is very rare as Go Bowls.
It is a rare item that is rarely distributed in the market.
With its calm wood color and beautiful grain, this Go Bowl has a stately appearance.
These Go bowls are made using the hikimono (grinding) technique called "Sen-suji", in which the wood is worked on a potter's wheel to make bowls, trays, and other round vessels.
The striped pattern of jet black and light red is very popular for its profound coloring, but the wood is difficult to obtain and is also difficult to process, making it a rare material.
To enable the wooden bowl to be held firmly, a technique is used to carve multiple narrow grooves where the fingers hang, and in many cases, this type of processing is applied to the part held by the hand and the sides.
Packaged in a Nishijin-ori Go bowl bag (subject to availability). (The pattern of the bag may change depending on the availability. Please note that the pattern of the bag may change depending on the availability.)
