New Go Board Collection by Master Craftsmen Torayoshi Yoshida & Katsumi Miura

Established in 1916, Yoshida Gobanten has been dedicated to the art of board making for over a century.
The name “Board Craftsman Torayoshi Yoshida” has been passed down through generations,
and this collection features new Go boards handcrafted with unwavering dedication
by the third- and fourth-generation Torayoshi Yoshida.

Also featured are new Go boards crafted by Katsumi Miura of Yachimata Gobanten,
established in 1971 and specializing in the production of
Go and Shogi boards made from Japanese kaya.

Among the highlights are Go boards with legs crafted from exceptional Hyuga Kaya lumber
that attracted widespread attention when it was auctioned
for an astonishing ¥40 million per cubic meter
and acclaimed as “the finest board-making material of the century.”
