Go board : Shin-Kaya (Spruce wood) table Go board size 20 (thick about 60 mm) 3~5-piece composition board
Shin-kaya (spruce) wood, while not of the same quality as genuine Kaya—the finest material for Go boards—is widely used because it is more affordable and has grain and color that closely resemble true Kaya.
The playing feel is comparable to that of genuine Kaya or Hyuga Kaya boards, and the wood is resistant to warping, cracking, or splitting.
Please note : "Shinkaya (spruce)" is a different species from genuine "Kaya."

Go stones : Clamshell Go Stones Premium Blossom grade size 32.
Clamshell Go Stones are white stones crafted from natural clam shells.
In general, the most comfortable thickness for Go stones is said to be between Size 30 and 36.
At Size 32 (approx. 8.8 mm thick), these stones offer both ample thickness and ease of handling, allowing you to fully enjoy the feel of clamshell Go stones.
Each stone is carefully handmade by skilled artisans through more than 20 production processes.
From raw shell to finished product, the process takes approximately 2 to 6 months.
With over a century of tradition, the art of Go stone making has been passed down through generations.

Quality : These stones meet strict selection standards and are of the highest grade, with virtually no blemishes.

Grade (grain) : Blossom grade — less than 80% of the Go stone shows the distinctive grain found in the higher Snow grade.

Proof of Quality – “Numbering” Each White Go stone manufactured by our shop is engraved with an invisible marking that becomes visible only under a blacklight.
This numbering serves as the mark of Kuroki Goishiten and as a guarantee of authenticity and quality control.

Keyaki [zelkova] is one of the most popular materials for Japanese wood crafts as it has not only clear grain patterns but also water- and humidity-resistant.

  Our Nachiguro black Go stones are made 0.3 mm thicker and 0.3 mm larger in diameter than white Go stones of the same size number.
  This adjustment ensures that, when placed on the board, both black and white Go stones appear visually equal in size—since the human eye perceives black Go stones as slightly smaller due to white being an “expanding color.
