Calligrapher Mr.Satoshi Iwao work "Dragon's Gate Leapfrogging"

This is a work by Satoshi Iwao, a calligrapher who lives in Miyazaki City and continues to expand and pursue the possibilities of "calligraphy" without being confined to "writing on Japanese paper with ink and brush".

The phrase "Dragon's Gate Leapfrogging" is derived from a Chinese legend that says, "It means overcoming great difficulties and achieving success, and when a carp climbs over the Dragon's Gate Falls, it turns into a dragon.

On a gold leaf background, the words "dragon flying through the sky," "Mt. Fuji," "full moon," and "dragon gate leap" are written in wild, godlike, and powerful brush strokes.

Calligrapher Mr. Iwao said about the creation of this work, "This piece signifies overcoming great difficulties and achieving success.
It comes from a Chinese legend that a carp turns into a dragon when it ascends a waterfall at the Dragon's Gate. It has the same meaning as "climbing the dragon gate.
The highest mountain in Japan was made to have the meaning of overcoming one's own difficulties.
The dragon is represented as a pine tree. Japan experienced a major earthquake at the beginning of the New Year.
Some people suffered from the disaster while paying their first visit to the shrine. We still have to live strongly. We hope that we can help to raise their luck, even if only a little."
