This Go Board is China grown Hon Kaya made Ten-masa Go board with legs (6.2-Sun/188 mm thick) *Off-spec.

The lines of a board are marked using Tachi-mori, the skill of drawing lines using a Japanese sword.
At the present, 6.2-Sun (approx. 188 mm) thick ten-masa board made from Japanese-grown kaya, a material that has become increasingly difficult to obtain, is exceptionally rare.
Highly recommended for those seeking a Go board with a profound sense of weight and luxury, for intermediate to advanced players, or as an excellent choice for a prestigious gift.
Although there are slight color variations, the ten-masa straight grain is beautiful, making it an elegant and refined board.
*Unfortunately, due to multiple cracks on one side, this item is being offered at a discounted price as an imperfect product.

*Please note that this board is extremely heavy, and the total package weight may exceed shipping limits.
If you wish to have it shipped overseas, kindly contact us by email before making your purchase.

With a thickness of 6.2-Sun (approx. 188 mm) and a weight of about 22.6 kg, this floor-standing Go board features perfectly straight Ten-masa grain on the top surface, offering outstanding presence, weight, and luxury.

*There are multiple cracks on one side, scratches on the bottom surface and on one side, and natural discoloration stains on both end grains.
*Please refer to the images.

All Go stones, Go boards, Shogi pieces, Shogi boards, Go bowls, etc. are made using natural materials.
For this reason, some products may present defects such as flaw, stain, crack and/or wood knots, or damages caused at the time of manufacturing and/or storage, and thus they cannot be sold at full price.
We do not sell any product with significant defects. We may sell some products with minor defects as "off-spec products" at a discounted price upon confirmation that customers are duly aware of any defects in advance.
We try our best to describe the condition of any defect as precisely as possible using pictures and text.
Please order items only after checking and accepting the condition of defects. Thank you.
*'Defects' refer to any scratch and flaw.

Kaya is regarded as one of the best materials to make Go and Shogi boards, because of its good sound and feel when placing the stones, moderate elasticity, beautiful grain, color, gloss and luster, and aroma.
There are three types of kaya trees: "Hyuga kaya" which is grown and harvested in a mountainous area in the southern part of Kyushu, Japan, "Japanese-grown honkaya" which is grown in other areas of Japan, and "China-grown honkaya" which is mainly grown in Yunnan Province, China. Generally, Japanese-grown honkaya is said to be better than Chinese honkaya in terms of quality.
Chinese kaya tends to be less valued than Japanese kaya due to its reddish wood color, wood quality, and rarity, but this material is often sold at a relatively affordable price for a high-quality board.
