This product is Kin-haki "Fuji, Kikyou and Hagi [Drooping wistaria , Balloon flower and Japanese clovers]", a Kyoto-style folding fan from "O-nishi Kyo-sen-do", a long-established fan store in Kyoto founded in the Tempo era (1868-1912).

This Kyoto folding fan is hand-painted.
It is decorated with hand-drawn "Fuji, Kikyou and Hagi [Drooping wistaria , Balloon flower and Japanese clovers]" with the gold leaf technique "Kin-haki".
A "decorative stand" for displaying folding fan, which can be placed on a shelf or hung on a wall, etc., is included.
This beautiful folding fan shines with the craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation for 1200 years in the ancient capital of Kyoto.

The folding fan is made of Japanese paper, decorated with gold leaf powder by brushing the paper with gold leaf powder, and painted with acrylic paints.

A gem created by 1,200 years of history 大西京扇堂 店舗 Kyoto "O-nishi Kyo-sen-do" was established in Kyoto during the Tempo era (1830-1843), and the current owner is the ninth generation of the family.
大西京扇堂 扇子作り1 The trade name at that time was "Yamatoya" and he called himself "Yamatoya Shobe".
Later, in the Meiji period, the name was changed to "Kyo-sen-do".
Located near the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge at the end of the Tokaido Highway, it has served as the purveyor to Myoshinji Temple, Chion-in Temple, Nanzenji Temple, and other main temples of the sect, and while delivering fans for temples, it also handled all kinds of fans for dancing, tea ceremony, and general fans because of its location among many tourists from home and abroad.
