A gem created by 1,200 years of history

Kyoto "O-nishi Kyo-sen-do" was established in Kyoto during the Tempo era (1830-1843), and the current owner is the ninth generation of the family.

The trade name at that time was "Yamatoya" and he called himself "Yamatoya Shobe".
Later, in the Meiji period, the name was changed to "Kyo-sen-do".
Located near the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge at the end of the Tokaido Highway, it has served as the purveyor to Myoshinji Temple, Chion-in Temple, Nanzenji Temple, and other main temples of the sect, and while delivering fans for temples, it also handled all kinds of fans for dancing, tea ceremony, and general fans because of its location among many tourists from home and abroad.

Even today, craftsmen continue to make Kyoto folding fans with craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation.
