Clamshell Go stones are white Go stones made from clam shells.
Generally, the thickness of Go stones that are said to be “easiest to play” is “size 30 to 36", so a Go stone of size 38 (thickness: approx. 10.7 mm) is overwhelming thickness, massiveness and a sense of luxury.

Each Clamshell Go stone is made by hand by Go stones craftsmen through more than 20 manufacturing processes.
It takes approximately 2 to 6 months from the clam shell to the finished product.

Go Board：Hyuga Kaya table Go board 1.6~2.0-Sun 3~7-piece comosition」
The board is made of Hyuga Kaya wood, which is considered to be the highest quality board material.
The board is 1.6 to 2.0-SUn (48 mm to 60 mm) thick with 3 to 7 pieces of grafted wood.
Scales are finished with Japanese lacquer.

About "Hyuga-Kaya" wood
"Kaya" is regarded as one of the best materials to make Go and Shogi boards, because of its good sound and feel when placing the stones, moderate elasticity, beautiful grain, color, gloss and luster, and aroma.
"Hyuga kaya" is a special type of close-grained Japanese nutmeg tree grown and harvested in a mountainous area in the southern part of Kyushu, Japan.
Hyuga kaya boards are used in various title matches and famous tournaments.
The sound of the placing of stones on the board is very clear. Moreover, as it is used over the years, it will take on a refined candy-colored luster, further enhancing its maturity.
