This is a　Wood craftsman "Kai-shi (懐志)" made rare “Yashiki-style” shogi piece box, carefully crafted from Japanese zelkova (keyaki).
While its shape has a solid, stable presence, its gently rounded form adds warmth and charm, giving it a friendly design reminiscent of the Honinbo-style Go bowls.

The house-like shape and the beautiful grain characteristic of keyaki create a pleasant, comforting feel, bringing a sense of warmth every time you hold it.
