This is a work by Satoshi Iwao, a calligrapher who lives in Miyazaki City and continues to expand and pursue the possibilities of "calligraphy" without being confined to "writing on Japanese paper with ink and brush".

This work is on a wooden panel, the words "一期一會 (Ichi-go Ichi-e)" are written in white letters on a background painted in acrylic gouache.

The intricately drawn backgrounds do not depict a specific "something," but rather, the work was created with the hope that the viewer will feel it in various ways depending on the person who sees it and the time of day.
The title of the work, "一期一會 (Ichi-go Ichi-e)" means "Encounter is so important that it is considered to be the only encounter you will have in your lifetime".
