Calligrapher Mr. Iwao said about the creation of this work, "This artwork was created during my stay in France while exhibiting at the 2019 JAPAN EXPO PARIS.
Being abroad made me realize once again just how incredible Japan truly is—a country of beauty, politeness, and thoughtful consideration. A culture that is delicate, sincere, and diligent.
I felt deeply proud to be Japanese and sincerely hope that this culture will never fade away.
While the lotus flower is often associated with devotion to Buddha, here it is used to represent its symbolic meaning: 'a pure heart.'"
