This work is Calligrapher Mr.Satoshi Iwao created the "A-Un (Agyo and Ungyo)".

This is a work by Satoshi Iwao, a calligrapher who lives in Miyazaki City and continues to expand and pursue the possibilities of "calligraphy" without being confined to "writing on Japanese paper with ink and brush".

This work is one piece with two separate calligraphy.
On a gold leaf background, a picture of a guardian dog from "Sano Shrine" in Takahara-cho, Miyazaki Prefecture, the birthplace of Emperor Jinmu, and the word "A-Un," which is believed to represent the beginning to the end of the universe, are written one by one in strong brush strokes.

Calligrapher Mr. Iwao said about the creation of this work, "A-Un has the meaning of the beginning and the end of the universe.
The shape of the mouth of a baby born crying at birth and the shape of a closed mouth at the end of a lifetime can also be seen.
A lifetime is shorter than the blink of an eye in cosmic time.
The design is meant to ward off evil, but also to encourage people to cherish the fleeting moments of their lives, not to be frightened by the hardships of the moment, and not to get caught up in what will probably seem like nothing in a few years' time.
When I painted the komainu (guardian dogs), I wanted them to have the meaning of the beginning and the end of Japan, so I painted the komainu that reside in the shrine of the first emperor, Emperor Jinmu, at his birthplace, Sano-shrine."

Each work size is 244 mm × 205 mm. The work is framed with acrylic paint for the komainu and Dark sumi ink for the signature.
