These Go bowls are wood craftsman Mr. Kawashita made Yakusugi Go Bowls with Sasamoku figure (Wood grain resembling bamboo leaves) for ~Size 34 Go Stones.

These Go bowls are made from Yakusugi (Yakushima cedar) estimated to be approximately 1,500 years old.
It features a beautiful wood grain pattern known as "Sasamoku", characterized by fine, wavy lines.
True to its name, "Sasamoku" resembles overlapping bamboo leaves with its distinctive jagged pattern.
Yakusugi from Yakushima Island is an extremely rare and highly valuable wood.

Since Yakushima was designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, logging has been strictly prohibited, making it incredibly difficult to obtain new material.
The intricate and delicate grain patterns of Yakusugi possess an elegant beauty that never ceases to captivate.
In fact, there are dedicated Yakusugi collectors around the world.
While Yakusugi is widely recognized as a premium material for tables and fine furnishings, its exceptional beauty and rarity also make it highly prized for crafting Go bowls.
