Shogi pieces craftsman "Fu-getsu 富月" made Satsuma-hon-tsuge (Satsuma grown boxwood) Himawari-Moku Shogi Kinki-syo (Kinki style) Engraved Shogi pieces Mori-age Shogi pieces.

This is a rare and exceptionally beautiful Mori-age shogi piece set, showcasing the refined carving and embossing techniques developed over many years.
The standout feature is the striking “Himawari-moku” (sunflower grain)—a unique wood grain pattern that radiates outward from the side of each piece like the petals of a sunflower.
"Fugetsu" is Shogi pieces craftsman who studied under "Contemporary Master Shogi Craftsman" Mr.Hisanori Ito, a Shogi pieces craftsman in Tendo City, Yamagata Prefecture, and is regarded as one of the five masters of the modern era.
The delicate and flowing inscriptions "Kinki-sho by Fugetsu" engraved on the butt end of the Gyokusyo and Ohsho, and the plump and graceful heaping up of the pieces show the craftsmanship of this masterpiece.
Fugetsu pieces are also used in title and Meijin tournaments.

Calligraphy : Kinki-syo
"Kinki-sho calligraphy" is very popular with its long history and dynamic writing.
"Kinki" is a very popular calligraphy style engraved on Shogi pieces.
There is a famous saying among Shogi players, "playing Shogi cannot start without Kinki and cannot end up without Kinki".

Shogi pieces types : Mori-age(Embossed)
'Mori-age-koma' is a piece made by filling the engraved characters with lacquer, and after drying and polishing the surface flat, finishing by using a brush to add more lacquer on top of the engraved lacquer parts to give slightly raised characters.

Materials : Satsuma-hon-tsuge
Ranked equally with the finest quality wood grain of 'Mikurajima-hon-tsuge', 'Satsuma-hon-tsuge', with its hard and tenacious wood, is also referred to as 'Practicality is Satsuma-hon-tsuge'.

Wood grain : Himawari-Moku (Sunflower pattern wood grain)
Himawari-Moku (Sunflower pattern wood grain) / "Sunflower Moku" features a beautiful grain pattern that seems to spread from side to side of the piece.
There are two types of wood grain patterns: "Kujaku-moku"(peacock pattern wood grain) which looks like a peacock spreading its wings from the bottom to the top of the piece, and "Inazuma-moku"(Lightning pattern wood grain) which looks like a lightning bolt as it spreads from the top to the bottom of the piece.
This "Himawari-moku" piece is made of these "Kujaku-moku" and "Inazuma-moku" pieces cut horizontally.
"Moku" is a very rare type of wood with its own unique flavor.
"Himawari-moku" is one of the rarest of the "Moku" types.

This is an association for training shogi piece makers, organized by "Fugetsu", a famous craftsperson based in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
"Fugetsu" studied under Mr. Ito Kyutoku, who is entitled "Contemporary Master Craftsman" and based in Tendo City, Yamagata Prefecture, and is respected as one of the five greatest master craftsmen in Japan.
駒師 富月 His craftsmanship shines through in the delicate, flowing calligraphy, and pseudonym engraved on the bottom of "Gyokusho" and "Osho" pieces, as well as in the plump, graceful moriage (raising with lacquer) technique.
Fugetsu's Shogi pieces have many fans among professional shogi players and are used in many title matches and Meijinsen tournaments.
