This is a Shogi pieces Box by master craftsman Seiji Matsuura, “Shimakuwa Shogi pieces Box”.
Mr. Seiji Matsuura is a proven woodworker who has used his work in professional shogi tournaments.

This box is made of Shimakuwa from Mikurashima Island, which is considered the highest quality material for piece boxes due to the rarity of the wood and the beauty of its unique patterns, color, and luster.

Although it is difficult to see in the picture, the grain of the wood is very beautiful and looks golden depending on the angle from which the light hits it and the angle from which it is viewed.
The lid is finished with a slightly rounded top.
This product has official seal of "Matsuura", wood craftsmen.
There is a naturally occurring black line on the side of the box.
