This is a set of Shogi pieces craftsman "Chikifu 竹風" made Shogi pieces , made from Mikurajima-hon-tsuge (Mikura Island grown boxwood) with a beautiful Tora-Moku (Tiger-striped wood grain), Gado-syo (Gado script), Mori-age(embossed).

These are Mori-age(embossed) shogi pieces crafted by "Chikufu," a renowned shogi piece craftsman based in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, who has produced numerous masterpieces over the years.
Chikufu's shogi pieces are well known for being favored by professional shogi player Yoshiharu Habu and have been used in numerous title matches.

The "Gado-syo" calligraphy style is characterized by its bold, flowing brushstrokes and elegant, dignified lettering.
These exquisite Mori-age(embossed) shogi pieces are made from rare Mikurajima-hon-tsuge (Mikura Island grown boxwood) featuring beautiful "Tora-moku" (tiger-stripe figured wood grain), named for its distinctive striped patterns resembling a tiger's fur.

    Mikurajima is an island located in the central part of the Izu Islands (an area with many islands of various sizes) in Tokyo, Japan.
    The quality of tsuge grown in the unique soil and climate is perfect for making shogi pieces.
    Mikurajima Island is the most highly regarded tsuge producing area along with the Satsuma region of Kagoshima Prefecture, that produces Satsuma tsuge.
    The hontsuge grown on Mikurajima Island is the best material for shogi pieces in terms of the color, luster, touch, weight, and texture of the wood.
