This is Hyuga kaya made Decorative carving Shogi pieces stand (1Pair) for 1.7～2.0-Sun (about 54 mm) Shogi board.
Hyuga Kaya made Shogi pieces stand with elaborating design and work.
This Shogi pieces stand is made from Hyuga kaya wood (Japanese torreya) that is the highest quality material to make Go and Shogi boards.

This is a finely finished shogi piece stand featuring decorative carvings on the sides.
These shogi piece stands are made from the same piece of wood, so they have the same wood color. However, they are not made from consecutive sections of the wood, so the wood grain patterns on the top surfaces do not align.
Designed for boards with a thickness of 1.7～2.0-Sun (approx. 50–60 mm), this stand has a height of 54 mm, made slightly lower—about the thickness of the pieces—for optimal balance and usability.

There are intergrown knots (habushi) and stains on the top surface, and stains and scratches from the manufacturing process on the sides.
