Crafted from matching wood (same material), this is a beautiful shogi piece stand with a consistent wood tone and a continuous grain across the top surface.


This is a finely finished shogi piece stand featuring decorative carvings on the sides.
The grain on the top surface of this shogi piece stand is not continuous.
The wood color and grain are not uniform, resulting in a mismatched appearance.

Designed for boards with a thickness of 1.7～2.0-Sun (approx. 50–60 mm), this stand has a height of 90 mm, made slightly lower—about the thickness of the pieces—for optimal balance and usability.

Crafted from matching wood (same material), this is a beautiful shogi piece stand with a consistent wood tone and a continuous grain across the top surface.
It is designed for boards with a thickness of 1.7～2.0-Sun (approx. 50–60 mm), and has a height of 54 mm, made slightly lower—about the thickness of the pieces—for optimal balance.
There are natural stains throughout, along with scratches on the top, sides, and bottom surfaces, and small holes on the bottom surface.

*Yakusugi (cedar wood) contains a high amount of natural oils, which may gradually seep to the surface over time.
There is a possibility that these oils or resin may transfer to the shogi pieces, so please be sure to check the surface before use. If any seepage is present, gently wipe it off with a dry cloth before using.

The wood grain on the top surface of this shogi piece stand is not continuous.
It is designed for boards with a thickness of 1.7～2.0-Sun (approx. 50–60 mm), and has a height of 54 mm, made slightly lower—about the thickness of the pieces—for optimal balance.
Please note that there are multiple cracks on the sides and bottom, as well as scratches on part of the top surface and along the edges.

Yakusugi (cedar wood) made Shogi pieces stand is beautiful and graceful with their intricate and elaborate grain patterns that there are serious "Yakusugi collectors" all over the world.
Since Yakushima Island has been registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, logging has been prohibited and the quantity of Yakusugi trees on the market is quite limited, making them extremely difficult to obtain.
The color of Yakusugi (cedar) wood is reddish-brown. It is a very beautiful wood with its unique aroma and intricate grain patterns.
Please note that the tree oil or fat may start to seep as time goes by as the wood contains a lot of oil and fat.
