These Go bowls are crafted from exceptionally rare Cherry wood with beautiful Moku, making them extremely difficult to obtain.
The beautiful golden Moku reveals a variety of expressions depending on the angle from which it is viewed.

Cherry wood is known for its fine, smooth grain and its soft, slightly reddish tone.
It offers a smooth texture and a subtle natural luster, gradually deepening into a warm amber hue with continued use, developing a calm and mature character over time.
Though not flashy, it embodies natural beauty and warmth, harmonizing well with both Japanese and Western interiors.

Traditional Craftsman Biei was born in Gunma Prefecture into a family engaged in lathe-turned woodworking and has spent over 50 years studying and refining the techniques of lathe woodcraft.
Working daily with a wide variety of woods, he continues to produce high-quality Go bowls through skilled craftsmanship and careful attention to detail.

In recognition of his expertise in lathe woodcraft, he was certified as a “Traditional Craftsman” in 2000.
